PERFECT RICE
Have you ever wondered how the restaurants seem to serve up perfect rice every time ? Never soggy, mushy or soft. Just perfectly firm but tender. The secret is so simple you'll wonder why you didn't know it all along.
Many people put their rice into a big pot of boiling water and more often than not, it comes out gooey and mushy.
The absorption method of cooking rice is the best way and almost fail proof.
Follow these easy instructions and you'll be eating perfect rice just like the restaurants make.
---------------------------
THE ABSORPTION METHOD
2 x Cups Rice (Basmati is nice)
2 ½ x Cups Water

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow a light simmer with saucepan covered for 12 - 15 minutes or until all the water has been absorbed. Stir a couple of times during cooking.
---------------------------
VARIATIONS:
Once your rice is cooked, all kinds of flavours can be added.
Add herbs such as rosemary, basil or oregano.
Add dill, garlic and a squeeze of lemon for a mediterranean flavour
Add curry powder and cooked peas for Indian style rice.
