DELICIOUS AUSSIE PASTIES
The burst of flavour in these little pockets of pastry heaven will be celebrated by children and adults alike. A genius way of convincing the fussiest of eaters to consume some much needed vegetables.
Puff Pastry (put aside 4 x frozen sheets to thaw)
1 Egg (beat well) we will baste the pastry with this later for a golden brown finish
500g Lean Minced Beef
1 Carrot (grated)
1 Potato (grated)
1 Onion (chopped fine)
2 Garlic Cloves (grated)
1/2 Cup Frozen Peas
(frozen peas stay firmer than canned but I've used canned and it's fine)
1 Tablespoon All Purpose Seasoning
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce (Maggi is awesome)
Mix all above ingredients well
Pre-heat oven to 200 celcius.
Line baking tray with baking paper.
Cut puff pastry sheets into quarters (4 squares each).
Add a tablespoon of the mixture on top of each square.
Seal up each square. Leave a small hole to allow steam to escape.
Place the sealed pasties on a baking tray
Baste each pastie with the egg mix.
Place the tray in the oven and leave for 30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
